VAT is not payable by Registered Disabled on crutches, ferrules or handgrips.

VAT Exemption Information

Crutches, ferrules and handgrips within our range are exempt from VAT for eligible individuals. The government requires that you complete a VAT Exemption Declaration Form. A VAT Exemption Declaration Form is included in the ordering process.

Who can claim VAT Exemption Relief on purchases?

Eligible Individuals: If you are chronically sick or disabled and the products are for your personal use. 'Chronic' meaning lasting a long time.

Eligible Charities: Where the goods are made available by the charity to a disabled person for their personal or domestic use.

Which law covers this notice?

The VAT Act 1994:

Section 30 holds that goods and services specified in Schedule 8 to the Act are zero-rated; and

Schedule 8, Group 12 (as amended by SI 1997/2744, SI 2000/805 and 2001/754) specifies the zero-rated goods and services explained in this notice.
