JLS Singer Aston Merrygold Performs on Cool Crutches With Foot Injury
We were thrilled to see Aston Merrygold out on stage during the JLS tour, confidently performing on crutches after an injury during rehearsals. Despite a setback that could have sidelined him, he chose to keep the show going. According to reports, the tour’s opening night in Glasgow saw Aston take to the stage with crutches at his side.
What makes this especially meaningful for us at Cool Crutches is that he started out using NHS-issued crutches, but has now switched to our Classic Black Cool Crutches. Seeing a performer of his calibre not only using mobility aids but doing so with style, comfort and confidence is truly inspiring.

The transition from standard issue to our crutches speaks volumes. NHS crutches are typically functional, but not always designed for long-term wear or comfort. With the right design and ergonomic grips, our crutches and walking sticks help reduce pain, improve stability and let the user focus on living (or performing) rather than struggling.
On stage, Aston’s Classic Black crutches didn’t just work, they elevated! They complemented his outfit, matched his energy, and offered the kind of discreet support a high-octane performer needs when every move matters. It’s a win for accessibility, for visibility and for showing that mobility aids can be both practical and fashionable.

In short, Aston’s decision to keep touring, to keep performing, and to upgrade his mobility aids sends a powerful message: you don’t have to hide your support tools. You can own them, style them and let them be part of your story. We’re proud he chose Cool Crutches, and excited to see how he continues to shine.
Aston Merrygold isn't the only person in the spotlight to choose our crutches, these amazing people have too:
Amanda Holden
and more!
