Walking sticks that feel as good as they look
Since 2006 we have designed walking sticks for people who use them every day and want something better than grey. Every Cool Crutches walking stick has a handle moulded to the left or right hand, a soft removable neoprene grip and a shock absorbing ferrule that keeps each step quiet. Over 50,000 customers have chosen us, and our customers rate us 4.9 out of 5.
How to choose the right walking stick
- Height: our standard walking sticks adjust to suit users from 5ft to 6ft 4in. Stand tall with your arms by your sides: the top of the handle should sit level with the crease of your wrist.
- Left or right hand: most people hold a walking stick in the hand opposite the side that needs more support. Our handles are shaped for each hand, so choose the one you will hold it in.
- Weight: a standard stick weighs 432g and supports up to 150kg (23.5st).
- Standard or folding: a standard stick is the sturdiest choice for everyday use. If you travel or want one that fits in a bag, see our folding walking sticks.

Walking stick FAQs
How do I measure for a walking stick? Stand upright in your everyday shoes with your arms relaxed. Measure from the floor to the crease of your wrist; that is your handle height. Our sticks adjust in seconds with a push button.
Which hand should I hold my walking stick in? Usually the hand opposite the side that needs more support. If you are unsure, our mobility quiz recommends a stick for you.
Are your walking sticks silent? Yes. Our shock absorbing ferrules and tight fittings stop the clicking and rattling common with standard sticks.
Can I take a walking stick on a plane? Yes, walking sticks are allowed in the cabin on most airlines. Read our guide to flying with a walking stick.
What is the difference between a walking stick and a walking cane? None, they are the same thing. "Cane" is more common in the US, "walking stick" in the UK.
Do you sell walking sticks for men? Yes. Our plain black, navy and carbon fibre effect walking sticks are popular with men and women.
